Tony Blair announced as guest of honour at Board of Deputies dinner

Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl has announced that the guest of honour at this year’s President’s Dinner in November will be former Prime Minister Tony Blair.

At yesterday’s Board of Deputies meeting, Marie told Deputies: “At a time when antisemitism in the Labour Party shows no sign of ending, it is worth reminding ourselves that Tony Blair, who was Prime Minister for a decade, was always there for us, always a friend of the Jewish community and a staunch supporter of the state of Israel. Since standing down he has worked tirelessly for peace in the Middle East.”

The dinner will take place on November 4.
