The Board of Deputies is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Toby Greene as our new Director of Public Affairs

Toby will be succeeding Daniel Sugarman who is moving on to a new role as Deputy Editor of the Jewish News.

Toby has had a distinguished career in both public affairs and academia relating to the Jewish community and Israel, including his most recent positions as a Lecturer at Bar Ilan University and as a policy analyst and consultant for organisations including LFI, ELNET and others. He has published widely on British Jewry, British politics, Israel and Foreign Policy.

Working collaboratively with the Honorary Officers of the Board, and the professional team, Toby will take forward our engagement with our key stakeholders in government, the media, civil society, faith communities and the diplomatic corps.

Following an extensive recruitment process, Toby emerged as the outstanding candidate with the skills and experience to navigate these challenging times for British Jews. We are delighted that he has accepted our offer to assume this critical role.”
