Simon Round appointed Board’s PR & Communications Officer

Simon Round, the Jewish Chronicle’s former chief features writer, has joined the Board of Deputies as its new PR and Communications Officer.

Simon has written a popular column for the JC for more than 20 years and his interviewees have included Joan Rivers, Jerry Springer and Stephen Fry. During his career he has also built up an in-depth knowledge of the community which he will be bringing to his new post at the Board.

He said: “I am really excited about the new challenge of working for an organisation which does such excellent work for our community.”

Board CEO Gillian Merron said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon to the team. With his enthusiasm and experience we look forward to getting the key messages of the Board and the community out further than ever before, promoting fairer coverage of Israel and highlighting all that there is to celebrate about being a British Jew”.
