Protecting Our Democracy From Coercion

Protecting our Democracy from Coercion

Lord Walney’s report on ‘Protecting Our Democracy from Coercion’ rightly sets out serious concerns with the way in which protests claiming to embody democracy are in fact stifling it.

In particular, the report’s call to amend the Public Order Act of 1986 is something we have already been urging politicians to consider. We are sure it will be studied closely by both the Government and His Majesty’s Opposition.

We look forward to engaging with the recommendations further.
