Board reiterates call to proscribe IRGC after revelations it is recruiting UK students for “apocalyptic war” on Jews

In light of news reported in the Jewish Chronicle that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is inciting and recruiting UK university students to join an “apocalyptic war” on Jews, the Board of Deputies reiterates its call on the UK Government to fully proscribe the IRGC as a terrorist organisation. Our President, Marie van der Zyl, has issued the following statement:

“We are deeply troubled that IRGC commanders have effectively been treating UK universities as a recruiting ground for terror and sharing disgusting antisemitic propaganda with students. The need for the Government to proscribe the IRGC has never been more starkly presented; the situation has moved from urgent to critical.”

Marie van der Zyl, President
