Board of Deputies writes to ITV after “staggering failure of due diligence”

Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl today wrote to the Chief Executive of ITV News, Dame Carolyn McCall DBE, regarding what amounts to “a staggering failure of due diligence” by the channel.

This follows the airing of an interview with Ms Latifa Abouchakra, a presenter of Press TV’s ‘Palestine Declassified’. Press TV are the state channel of Iranian Ayatollah regime and have had their broadcasting license revoked by Ofcom.

Update: we have now received a response from ITV, with an apology and a commitment to tighten up their booking procedures. Read their response below.
