Board of Deputies welcomes funding change to Palestinian Authority by UK Government

Board of Deputies Senior Vice President Richard Verber has written to Secretary of State Priti Patel at the Department for International Development to welcome changes made to the funding of the Palestinian Authority.

Richard said: “We have long been concerned with the delivery of the United Kingdom’s aid to the Palestinian Authority, given its history of payments to terrorists and their families. Over the past few years we have raised this issue with DfID ministers and civil servants on a number of occasions. We believe that the changes announced are a step in the right direction. The Palestinian Authority must understand that assistance comes with responsibilities.”
