The Board of Deputies welcomes the Department for Education’s commitment to supporting Holocaust education and ensuring survivors are empowered to help teach younger generations about the horrors of the past so that they may never be repeated.
Senior Vice-President Gary Mond added: “With the passage of time, the number of survivors with personal experience of the Holocaust gets fewer and fewer. It is vital that as much as possible is done to ensure that present and future generations are taught about what happened. The antisemitism which led to the Holocaust must be understood, and the atrocities that happened need to be remembered and never repeated. Every action towards achieving this objective is to be supported.”
