The Board of Deputies has described as “disgraceful” a letter sent by Diane Abbott MP to the Observer newspaper claiming that the Jews, Irish and Traveller communities had never experienced racism.

The statement read: “Diane Abbott’s letter to the Observer was disgraceful and her apology is entirely unconvincing. We have written to Keir Starmer expressing our deep concern and asking for the whip to be removed.”
