Board of Deputies President meets Ukrainian Bishop to demonstrate support for the people of Ukraine

Board of Deputies President Marie van Der Zyl has met Bishop Kenneth Nowakowski, Bishop for Ukrainian, Belarusian and Slovak Eastern Catholics, at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Holy Family to demonstrate empathy and support for the people of Ukraine.

Marie presented Bishop Kenneth with a siddur as a spiritual symbol of friendship and solidarity. Marie and Bishop Kenneth spoke at length about the challenges facing the Ukrainian community in the UK and future challenges with incoming Ukrainian refugees. She offered practical support from the Jewish community and the Board of Deputies will be working with other communal organisations to consider ways in which this can be organised.
