Board condemns offensive remarks made by Kate Osamor MP on Holocaust Memorial Day

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

After Labour MP Kate Osamor posted a Holocaust Memorial Day message on social media offensively including the current situation in Gaza with that of the Holocaust and the official genocides marked by the day, we call on the Labour Party to remove the whip. Our statement:

“We unreservedly condemn the attempts by Kate Osamor to link the Holocaust to the current situation in Gaza. The industrialised mass murder of six million Jews is in no way comparable to Israel’s efforts to uproot Hamas from Gaza.

“We believe that Ms Osamor was perfectly aware of what she was saying and therefore view her apology as utterly hollow. We call for the Labour Party to immediately remove the whip.”
