The Board of Deputies of British Jews has today launched “Remembering 7th October: Resource”, a comprehensive online platform created to ensure that the atrocities committed on 7th October 2023, are remembered, documented, and taught for generations to come.
Since 2023, Board of Deputies has continued to prioritise remembrance and the plight of the hostages. Weekly vigils near Parliament and ongoing awareness campaigns have been central to these efforts. As the second anniversary of the attacks approaches, the Board recognises the urgent need to reaffirm the truth of what occurred and to counter attempts to distort or minimise the events of that day.
The newly launched Remembering 7th October: Resource brings together, in one place, a wealth of materials:
This curated hub serves as a living record of the atrocities and an invaluable educational tool for commemorative events, schools, universities, community organisations, and anyone seeking to understand what happened on that Shabbat morning.
Included in the resource are documents including: Mapping the Massacre – https://oct7map.com/; October 7th Memorial page https://october7memorial.com/memoriam; the documentary, Screams Before Silence; and speeches at the United Nations by released hostages.
The resource also contains a toolbox for care, clarity, and confidence: “Standing Strong in the Face Of Antisemitism” – a collection of images and prompts to support people trying to make sense of their recent experiences around Israel.
Board of Deputies President Phil Rosenberg said:
“Our community has been clear – we must not let the victims or the truth of that day fade from memory. This resource stands as evidence, as testimony, and as a teaching tool. It is for now and for the future.”
