Board of Deputies appoints Liat Rosenthal as new Director of Culture, Education and Communities

The Board of Deputies is delighted to announce the appointment of Liat Rosenthal who will head up our flagship Jewish Culture Month in 2026 as our new Director of Culture, Education and Communities.

Liat will be taking on the baton from Dawn Waterman who is staying at the Board in the role of Heritage Adviser.

Liat brings extensive expertise as a cultural programmer in Jewish and national contexts, having worked as a Senior Creative Producer for Tate Modern, and Head of Community Programming at JW3.  She also co-founded Artists Against Antisemitism UK, a public campaign that she led to combat antisemitism in the cultural sphere.

Working collaboratively with the Board’s honorary officers and professional team, Liat will oversee our work in culture, heritage, education and communities, and lead the development of our first ever Jewish Culture Month, taking place in the month of Sivan (May/June 2026).

Chief Executive Michael Wegier said:

“Liat emerged as the outstanding candidate to take forward the Board’s ambitious programme to celebrate British Jewish life, including our flagship Jewish Culture Month. We are delighted that she has accepted our offer to join the team.”

Liat said:

“I am delighted to join the Board of Deputies team and look forward to applying my experience in cultural programming to the promotion of our community’s rich and diverse heritage.”
