When Andrew was first elected to the Board’s executive in 1994 he was one of the youngest executive members ever to have been elected at the Board. He had already been a founding member of RSY-Netzer Makirut, chaired the Soviet Jewry campaign of Reform Judaism (Exodus) and was Chair of Limmud. Over the last 30 years, Andrew has chaired Reform Judaism, chaired the UK Programme of the UJIA, set up Limmud International, chaired the Youth Movement Allocations Committee, Vice Chair of Arzenu, the World Reform Zionist Organization and on the Board of Governors of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
Prior to his election as Vice President he was the Vice Chair of the Communities & Education Division, Co-Chair of the London Jewish Forum, Co-Chair of the London Jewish Health Partnership and the Jewish lead on the London Jewish Police Forum. His focus on Resilience developed during the Pandemic and he has served on the steering committee of the London Anchor Institution Networks. In recent years, Andrew has used his conference organising pleasure into creating and building the JLM London and more recently JLM Manchester Conference. Amongst Andrew’s varied list of interests are genealogy, bridge, Spurs, modern liturgical music, communal history and politics.
