Meade Hill Synagogue joins Board of Deputies

Manchester United (Meade Hill) Synagogue has become the latest shul to join the Board of Deputies.

The synagogue has elected Gary Wernick to be its first Deputy. There are now a total of 308 Deputies representing 218 synagogues and organisations – the highest figure in more than 20 years. Ninety of these are from regional Jewish communities, with 16 Deputies from Manchester synagogues and organisations.

Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl said: “We are delighted to welcome Meade Hill. It is wonderful that the Board of Deputies is continuing to expand with a steady stream of new applications from all around the UK. This underlines our position as a truly national representative organisation.”
