Condemnation for escalating Middle East violence

Board of Deputies President Marie van der Zyl has condemned the latest cycle of violence in the Middle East.

She said:  “We unequivocally condemn the escalating violence of rocket-fire into southern Israel and the riots and clashes in Jerusalem. Racism and extremism have no place in any society and the hideous rhetoric and behaviour that has been displayed in Jerusalem over the past weeks has been shameful – such behaviour hurts any prospect of a lasting peace. We call on all to stop these attacks immediately, and for calm to be restored in the Holy City and along the Israel-Gaza border.”
