Board of Deputies Vice President Marie van der Zyl has welcomed the Equality and Human Rights Commission report on ‘Healing a Divided Britain’ which cites evidence from the Board of Deputies
Marie commented: “The report highlights the link between religion and race in hate crime which is a continuing and pressing issue in our country, particularly as the first six months of this year saw the second highest level of antisemitic incidents since records began, and hate crime has rocketed since the EU referendum. We will continue to bring to public attention the challenges faced by Jews and other minorities in the UK, and we are ready and willing to work with anyone who will help us achieve a more cohesive and inclusive society.”
