Board of Deputies stands by Israel’s right to protect its citizens from Iran proxy Islamic Jihad

The Board of Deputies have released a statement following the launch from Gaza of more than 600 rockets towards Israel.

“We stand by the State of Israel’s right to protect its citizens from the terrorist organisation, Palestinian Islamic Jihad. PIJ is a proxy of the Ayatollah regime in Iran, which funds, directs, and organises terrorism across the world.

“Since Friday evening, over 600 rockets have been fired towards Israeli citizens. However, many of these rockets have landed in Gaza, tragically causing a loss of Palestinian life. PIJ are a threat to all innocents.

“We pray for a swift end to this violence and call on all governments around the world to recognise Israel’s right to defend itself against all terrorist threats.”
