Board of Deputies responds to news of hostage release deal

Following the news that a deal has been reached between negotiators, Board of Deputies President Phil Rosenberg, said:

“For more than a year, since the October 7th massacre, we have been yearning for the return of the hostages taken captive by Hamas and an end to this terrible war. A deal which we pray will lead to their release has now been agreed by the negotiators. We hope, that after so many long and painful months, that the hostages will now finally be able to return home to their loved ones, Israeli and Palestinian civilians will see an end to suffering, and work can begin towards a comprehensive resolution that grants peace and security to all.  Notwithstanding our hopes, we will not cease our advocacy until the last hostage is home.”
