Your Excellency,

I am writing as President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the UK’s leading and only democratic
representative body for Jews in the UK.

I wanted to express my sincere condolences at last week’s terrorist attack in Pahalgam. I know from
many of my friends within the UK’s Indian community that this has shaken them deeply. As the first
Board of Deputies President of Indian descent, I also feel the impact of the attacks personally.

Please know that my thoughts are with the victims and their families during this time of grief. I also wish
to extend my support and solidarity to the people of India as they navigate the sorrow and shock caused
by this incident.
