Board of Deputies lead Jewish community delegation to meet SNP leadership

SNP Westminster Group Leader Ian Blackford this week met a group of Jewish community representatives led by Board of Deputies Chief Executive Gillian Merron, to discuss the threat of antisemitism, terrorism and extreme anti-Israel sentiment. The delegation urged the parliamentarians to be responsible in their language when discussing the conflict in the Middle East and to be firm on those in their party – and outside – who are not.

The representatives included Ephraim Borowski, Director of ScoJeC, David Delew, Chief Executive of the CST and Peter Speirs, Scotland Director of the CST.

Other topics discussed included support for faith schools, religious freedoms and continued access to kosher food.

Also in attendance was Joanna Cherry QC MP, the SNP’s Home Affairs spokesperson.
