‘Anger in the community’ over Labour’s modified definition of antisemitism

In a joint letter to the General Secretary of the Labour Party, Jennie Formby, the Board of Deputies, Jewish Leadership Council and Community Security Trust have spoken of “anger in the community” over the modified version of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of antisemitism adopted by the party.

In the letter,  JLC Chief Executives Gillian Merron and Simon Johnson and CST Head of Policy Dave Rich said that the proposed Labour definition was “not fit for purpose” and that the weakened examples would “give many of your members a free pass”.
